Monday's blah, but your week doesn't have to be. So, here are some hip haunts and choice events to hit up:

CAROL BURNETT: Quick. Name five famous female gingers. See? Not so easy. Clearly making a maroon mop work is nothing to sneeze at. Cop a squat at DPAC for a rare conversation with Carol, and find out anything from how she managed that mane, to a stint on "Fame," to the plight of playing a cruel Miss Hannigan. It's a hard knock life after all — might as well take a break and chew the fat with a famous ginger. When: April 2, 7:30 p.m. Starting at $42. More info

DISNEY LIVE! MICKEY'S MAGIC SHOW: If you saw a broom dancing now, you'd probably assume you'd gone mad. Or be on hallucinogenics. Stifle your inner cynic and return to a time when you believed that magic actually existed — that puppets can become real live boys, that rags can become bedazzled riches by the stroke of a fairy wand, that rugs can levitate princesses in the Middle East, that a wonderland might be through that looking glass, or that wishing on stars really does make dreams come true — as the mouse that started it all and some other fantastical Disney faves (Donald, Goofy, Alice, the Mad Hatter and many more) take the stage at DPAC for a spellbinding show. Just remember, no matter which side of the rabbit hole you're on, "we're all mad here." When: April 1, two shows at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Starting at $16. More info

MONSTER JAM: Clearly these roaring rigs missed the memo that March is supposed to come in like a lion. Twelve-feet tall, 10,000-lb machines sound so docile, don't they? Roll over to RBC as these beastly wreckers ramp up a good time and let April give March a run for its money. It promises to be a smash. When: April 1 & 2, times vary. Starting at $20. More info

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL: We've sacrificed that hour of sleep. We've seen 80 degrees. But we know it's not really spring in the city until the borough is abloom. Or yellow. So, pop your blossom cherry and suck in that sweet, sneezy, springy scent with a little vernal venture in the Duke Gardens — featuring culturally inspired tea tradition, Japanese taiko drumming and trad Japanese art displays. If you're feeling really festive you can always sport a kimono. When: April 3, 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Angle Amphitheatre, Duke Gardens. $10; Friends $5; Children $5. More info

DOG DAYS: Fido wants some fun in the sun, too. So, all paws on deck for the Dog Days 5K and 2-mile Dog Walk at N.C. State. Now that's a pooch parade. Just don't wear your Milkbone underwear. When: April 3. 5K at noon and 2-mile Dog Walk at 1:30p. Entry fee, $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 2-mile Dog Walk. After 3/28 both fees increase $5.
